Do you really think changing your mindset can change your grades for the better?

I honestly think changing your mindset can change your grades for the better because when you think positive you get positive, and when you think negative you get negative. From personal experience everytime I have a fixed mindet I give up and fail. When I change my mindset to a growth mindset I see myself suceed. I see myself doing so much better. I pass my classes, do all my work, come to school, and I see a positive change. I believe changing your mindset can change your grades for the better.

My Opinion On Public Education In The Bronx

I feel like some of the requirements that you need to complete in order to graduate or even get promoted to the next grade are unnecessary. For example in order to get promoted to the next grade in Middle School or even in Elementary you must pass the New York state ELA and Math exam. In highschool you must pass a certain amount of Regents in order to graduate. I find test taking very pointless. I dont believe a test determines a students intelligence. Many students might fail because they're under a lot of pressure or are nervous about failing.

What Failure Looks Like

In my opinion failure is when you give up. When you dont give it your all, and you dont work to the best of your ability. I feel like I have failed at something when I didn't try my best or I know I could've done better and I chose not too. Another form of failure can be when you tell yourself over and over you can't do something.

How Tough Minded Am I ?

Unfortunately, I feel like I've become more and more weak minded throughout the years. I use to be able to brush anything off my shoulders. Currently, I let everything get to me. All the amount of stress puts me in a very bad place. I am no longer able to handle things how I used to. I let my personal life interfere with my school work and I admit that is something I really need to work on. In conclusion I personally think I am no longer tough minded.

Survey Question

I chose question #10 from the survey
I can ! I can! I can! (If I put my mind to it.)
I strongly agree with this statement because you can do whatever you set your mind to do. Whatever you really want to do in life you can do it. When you set a goal for yourself and make it your main focus, you can achieve it. When you want to do something and you dont do anything that will benefit that goal, you dont work hard for it, and you constantly think negative, or think that you cant, you won't. Which is why I strongly agreed to the statement that you can when your mind is put into it.

About Me

My name is Alondra and I am seventeen years old. I live on 170 street in the Bronx and I attend Crotona Academy. Throughout my course, I hope to learn all about psychology and the way the mind is set. One question I have is how can psychology be related to ELA?
